Hawai'i Ka'u Prime - Washed 8oz bag

$30.00

One of the original goals of Duality Coffee was to feature US grown coffees as well as establish direct trade relationships with coffee farms. We’re thrilled that this release marks the realization of BOTH those goals. This coffee is a specialty grade (Prime) Arabica bean grown in the volcanic soils just south of Volcanoes National Park outside Pahala on the Big Island of Hawai’i. The broader specialty coffee world doesn’t pay much attention to coffee from Hawai’i but, after visiting some farms on the Big Island and doing some tasting, we knew there was something special there that so many others are missing. After meeting with the MTZ Ka’u team and sampling this coffee earlier this year, we’re so excited to offer it now to you! As they say at the farm, this coffee is “made with Aloha.” We roast this to a light/medium profile which maintains the flavor nuance of this special region while balancing the acidity for a clean finish.

Limited availability

Tasting notes: Brown sugar, lemon, green apple, floral nose, medium-weight mouthfeel & agave sweetness on the finish.

Hipster tasting notes: A fresh crop of brown sugar shaped into a volcano gives way to a mist of delightful lemon clouds. Cut green apples arranged in a spiral draw you into an interdimensional drift where floral fragrance is light and agave is the vessel. The island retains its mystery but your knowledge expands.

8oz resealable bag with one-way CO2 valve to preserve freshness
