Grown and sourced from the largest coffee-producing region in Nicaragua, this specialty grade coffee combines several arabica varietals. A combination of rich volcanic soil and shady canopy growth with ideal elevation provide excellent conditions for coffee to thrive. Post harvest, these beans undergo a washed processing. They are then sorted to ensure consistent sizing and minimal bean defects to meet a “European” standard for specialty grading. The result is a balanced, even cup that highlights some of the best flavors in a darker roasted coffee but leaves bitterness behind.
If you prefer a Vienna-style roast, this coffee is for you. It has a heavier mouthfeel as the backdrop for more nuanced flavors that really pop once it’s able to cool a bit in the cup. We love this coffee brewed in a French Press!
Tasting notes: Dark cocoa, raisin, walnut
Hipster tasting notes: Awakened by the cheerful cascade of walnut shells tumbling from the pipes of an organ, you recall a spiritual hymn that opens the semi-annual raisin festival. The chocolate velvet draped across your shoulder slips and portends oscillation between intention and misinterpretation radiating warmth. Your mind drifts, then a question: “what is the source of preposterous bumbling romance & does it have a subgenre on Netflix?”
8oz resealable bag with one-way CO2 valve to preserve freshness
